What Is Skirting Board?
Skirting boards are decorative timber mouldings fitted around the base of the wall. Skirting boards will typically protect the walls from accidental knocks, as well as wear and tear from furniture and soiling and scuffs from mops and hoovers. They can be used as a really clever way of hiding uneven or rugged floor or wall edges.
Skirting should be fitted after all wall surfaces have been finished (but not decorated) and after fitting architrave and doors.
